Wine Tour, Road of the Doges
Between land and water
Drive through the easternmost part of Veneto to the lagoon towns of Caorle and Bibione, between the rivers Lemene and Livenza, where the provinces of Treviso and Pordenone meet to encompass the wine-producing are called “the Doges’ vineyards”. Here grapes have been grown since Roman times and in particular during the heyday of the Serenissima Republic. In these areas between land and water, drive along the Lison Pramaggiore DOC Wine Route, established in 1986 to showcase a landscape combining history, gastronomic heritage and excellent wines.
HIGHLIGHTS
• The tour will take you along the Lison Pramaggiore DOC Wine Route in the eastern part of the province of Venice. Stop for a wine tasting session accompanied by local finger food at a winery in the Lison Pramaggiore DOC area. You will also have the opportunity to buy some bottles.
• Visit to one of the vineyards to see how the best grapes are grown for the production of famous local wines like Cabernet Franc, Lison or Tocai italico, Merlot, Sauvignon, Refosco, Pinot Bianco and Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay.
